UNBELIEVABLE! He's on the biggest players we cannot afford to not have! If it all I am hopeful it is just one semester, but I hope things somehow get turned around and Hawk gets to play.

I find it rather interesting that they deleted the article..
I'm not buying it till the end of summer school, and an offical announcement is made.. I don't care what Rainman says.. He's been wrong before.

Thats a good point Ed. I had not realized that until later. I dont think they got their information from a very reliable source. Again I had heard nothing about this other than internet rumors. It could be true, but I think its all hogwash.

Iagree Miss Kitty. Ive been very unhappy with the Cats Pause the last couple of years. Their reporting is getting less and less reliable. And to think I'm paying about $75 a year for my subscription. Which I'm not renewing come October. ED

I think we are all in denial. Looks like Hawkins is history! I can understand rumors, but when rumors beginning showing up in articles of Journalist like Earl Cox and publications like the Cat's Pause, to say nothing of posts by our own "Mr. Confidence" something is up. Obviously they pulled the story because they were not sure that it is yet a done deal, but can you imagine the scrutiny that went behind the article in the first place?

Even if it is true he won't be history. It will just be for one semester.

Yeah, ONE SEMESTER, UK's season could very well be over at that point. You've gotta look who his most credible backup is. Stockton? Freshman. Carrier? More of a shooter, and has had very little pt. Fitch? Most logical choice, but when has Tubby made ANY logical decisions? We lose Hawk, the season could be over by January.

If this story finally is confirmed (and can stay put...that removal IS suspect), then nobody can live in denial. However, until such confirmation is received, there is no use in fretting over something that may NOT be true.
In either case, we are deep enough to work through Hawkins' fall semester absence if need be IMO.

Deep at PG? ?? WHO, am I missing some unknown talent that NOBODYS heard of? ?? If you remember since the Saul fiasco, UK's not had more than ONE competent PG a year. If you were talking SG, Center or forward then yeah UK's pretty deep, but pg is slim pickens.

Try Barbour on for size. Word is his PG skills are none too shabby. Then we have Fitch who got some valuable experience at the point last season. Stockton ain't exactly chopped liver, though he does have to prove his stock at the collegiate level.

Well losing Hawkins would be a major blow, but fortunately it will be for a semester IF its true. Barbour is more than competent to run the point guard position from what I hear which will actually help give more pt to other players. Not to say this is good, but I don't think that this is that bad of a situation. Now if it was for the WHOLE year, then I'd be singing a different tune. We are talking barely six weeks.

Kentucky has had a problem at the point ever since saul was annointed over a BETTER player, {BLEVINS} and the recruitment of a point guard has NOT been that good. WHO will take over for Hawk is the coachs responsibility and he should have been prepared for just such a thing. He should have had SOMEONE looking out for something like this and corrected it before it festered to the point it is now. that is NOT having the schools BEST interest at heart and that fault rests on the coaching staff. I am sorry if I come off as ANTI UK, of which I AM NOT, but when you have a job that carries so much responsibility as Tubby has, you NEED more responsible assistants and we are sorely lacking in that area.Heck, Tubby can't possibly be expected to be everywhere, but he DID make the decision to hire Hobbs which has IMOE harmed the program more than it has helped

Barbour and Stockton for one are freshmen, and running the point in D-1 sec basketball is alot different than high school and junior college.
Fitch could do it, but who knows if Tubby would even play him? You never know what Tubby and Gerald are gonna do.
Some are basing the whole next season on some good recruits. I can name a list as long as my arm of "good" recruits that never did anything. I want some proven upperclassmen. OOps they all transfered.
