Overheard Word on the street is that the three best available big men at the Nike Camp -- Tyler Hansbrough, Richard Hendrix and Eric Boateng -- already know where they're going. Word is, Hansbrough is going to North Carolina, Hendrix to Alabama and Boateng to Duke. We'll see ... www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7485963 ............. This is a report halfway down the page at a CBS site, so dont kill the messenger here. I am trying to contact my friends to see if they have heard any such talk, but right now one of them is gone out of town, and hopefully I can run the other one down tommorrow and see what he knows, doesnt know ? The report may just be an overjealous reporter to trying to get some kind of scoop or something, so I guess we will see...

Crap that sucks because I thought UK had a real good chance at getting him. He could still change hid mind though but not likely.

In a relatively weak class, with the higher H.S. to NBA pattern and his stock continuing to rise, I don't think he plays College ball anywhere, just my .02

CatDaddy, I agree that he goes direct to the NBA.

It is extremely possible that Tyler will go direct to the NBA, but my gut tells me that he's a college player. I'd love to see Tyler in Lexington, but if he doesn't care to play for the cats then so be it. We'll move on and get the best available player. It's not like we are in bad shape at the four anyway. We do have Sheray, and Bobby can play some four as well. Not to mention there are several other PF that have the Cats high on their list.

Brandan Wright the 6-9 Power forward at that Nike event really likes UK. He is real good.
Still, I would not give up on Hansbrough

Just from his comments and his rising "value", I don't see Tyler playing College ball anywhere. If he has a good Senior HS year and bulks up a little, he'll go directly to the NBA.

It should also be noted that Gregg Doyel (no relation) is a university of Florida grad that lived for several years in North Carolina. The article was mear rumor and nothing more, and I'm sure if Gregg could steer some kid away from UK then he'd do just that IMO.

Now that report is definitely a Eastern Bias. The update in the RECRUITING FORUM I believe is more accurate. He talked about his recruitment with Missouri and Kentucky. And the only team he has mentioned about their players is KY. Not KU, Missouri, or UNC. I still get the feeling I had with Morris. He is a CAT!!!! I feel it in my bones. ED BTW TH is way off from next year draft ESPN feels it will have a much larger International feel to it, and better players coming from the college ranks. TH needs to gain about 35-50 lbs to really be considered a PF in the NBA, show me a 215lb PF in the NBA, they would knock him all over the place. Also he doesnt have a shot beyond 15 ft he'll have to extend that. TH needs at least 1 season in the College ranks.

I just believe that where ever Tyler goes he'll be there for a couple seasons any way. I just have this gut feeling that college will mean a lot to this kid.

It "ain't over" till the ink is dry on the Letter of Intent!!!! I completely agree. I won't believe anything about TH until it comes from his mouth. But, even if we don't get TH, there are enough 4s to go around in this class.

Very good point BC and 4UKtrey, I dont put much trust in Doyell myself, so this report could just be to try to steer the kid to Carolina. If, it is true, it is being kept close to the vest as neither of my friends know anything about it either, as far as it being true. I also agree BC, I hope he comes to UK, but if he doesnt want to be here, we have other options, and other kids that WANT to be !

I was just reading an article over at Insiders.com about Tasmin Mitchell, and how really likes Kentucky, and he might actually be leaning more toward Kentucky than people think. He stated that he really likes Tubby! and would like to play for him.

(Greg Hoover from IK) Greg thinks we are right there with Tasmin and even went as far to say we could possibly get both Hansbourgh and Mitchell. Now that would be a coup! Stay tuned!!
