We will never see Hansbrough in a U of K uniform. And the reason will not be because of him going to the NBA. Tubby just can't recruit these type of players to attend Kentucky.

Don't even start down the race road again. If you want to talk about race then go to the "Other Sports" forum and start a thread about NASCAR! Any derogatory comments about race will be deleted.

Tubby delivers the #1 class, and there are still complaints. I mean he got the #1 class, I wouldn't think Tubby is bad at recruiting any type of player. Unbelievable!!!

"Don't even start down the race road again." I have never "been down that race road" before. Look, if I wanted to be a fan of a white basketball team, I would be posting on some team site in Europe or other such place that doesn't have back ballplayers on them. But tell me, what white basketball player has Tubby recruited that has been worth anything besides practice fodder (with the exception of Sparks). Also, Woo might turn out to be a decent player, depending on how long Morris stays around so he will be able to get some quality playing time. There have been many players with the talent such as Hansbrough that haven't given UK much of a look. Why I wonder. I coached youth basketball for many, many years. I coached all white teams and I have coached all back teams. The best team I coached had 5 white kids and 6 back kids. Not only were they the best team talent wise, but also fundementally wise. And the good thing about it was they all got along real well with each other. You guys are to fast to assume things and jump down someone's throat without really reading and understanding the question or statement. Again, you prove my point about having tunnel vision when it comes to Tubby and the way he runs his program.

This is for clarification, for myself, and to help me understand your earlier post of......... We will never see Hansbrough in a U of K uniform. And the reason will not be because of him going to the NBA. Tubby just can't recruit these type of players to attend Kentucky,,, I wonder if you say that because you feel that Tubby just cant connect with the White young male athlete ? I am not saying you are predjudice, and do not mean this in a stirring way, just trying to get a grasp on if you think that is a problem within Tubby's recruiting methods or what. Thanks

ktb, in the past, I don't know what Tubby's thinking in regards to recruiting. He tried to win with a bunch of role players, and that didn't work. He did win alot of game with them and had SEC play success. But they just didn't get the job done in the NCAAs. I just think a player like Hansbrough would be great for the team in more ways than one. I think we need more players like Padgett, Sheppard and Mills. Where would we of been without them. And on the other hand, where would we of been the past few years if we had of had players on the squad like them. We could of been more successful than we were. I don't know if that last statement is true, but history has proven that it did work. Heck, maybe that is what the missing link is for Tubby to get back to the final four and another national championship. Like I said, it has worked before and the lack of the type of play Hansbrough is, could be the "missing piece to the puzzle".

BlueCat I am hearing the same! A week ago I had dinner with Geekcat. (Greg Hoover from IK) Greg thinks we are right there with Tasmin and even went as far to say we could possibly get both Hansbourgh and Mitchell. Now that would be a coup! Stay tuned!! This reminds me of Rich and Crawford. Hansbrough being Rich, and Mitchell being Crawford. Last year we lost Rich and wound up with the better player Crawford. Could we lose Hansbrough and wind up with Mitchell? This would be the same type scenario.
