[quote (with the exception of Sparks). [/quote] To my knowledge I don't think Tubby ever recruited Sparks .. Surely not before he signed and played for Western and anything after that would have been a violation of NCAA rules

ktb, in the past, I don't know what Tubby's thinking in regards to recruiting. He tried to win with a bunch of role players, and that didn't work. He did win alot of game with them and had SEC play success. But they just didn't get the job done in the NCAAs. I just think a player like Hansbrough would be great for the team in more ways than one. I think we need more players like Padgett, Sheppard and Mills. Where would we of been without them. And on the other hand, where would we of been the past few years if we had of had players on the squad like them. We could of been more successful than we were. I don't know if that last statement is true, but history has proven that it did work. Heck, maybe that is what the missing link is for Tubby to get back to the final four and another national championship. Like I said, it has worked before and the lack of the type of play Hansbrough is, could be the "missing piece to the puzzle". Let's look at the last few national champs: 1998 Kentucky-two white starters 1999 UConn-one white starter 2000 Michigan State-no white starters 2001 Duke-one white starter 2002 Maryland--one white starter 2003 Syracuse-two white starters 2004 UConn-no white starters As you can see from the past champs, it doesn't matter what color of the player. All that matters is the talent level. Michael Jordan was a great player because of his skills not his color. Larry Bird, also, was a great player not because of his color but because of his skills.

I thought we were out of scholarships. Have we more?? Williams takes up 1 scholarship next year, and we oFFICIALLY have 1 other besides that, so we have a total of 2 . However, if needed, we will have atleast 1 more.

BlueCat I am hearing the same! A week ago I had dinner with Geekcat. (Greg Hoover from IK) Greg thinks we are right there with Tasmin and even went as far to say we could possibly get both Hansbourgh and Mitchell. Now that would be a coup! Stay tuned!! That would be awesome!!! And its definitely possible with Mitchell knowing he has to become a 3 to make it to the NBA. ED

Also, I would absolutely love for us to get Mitchell, but he has a great friend that plays at LSU, Bass. However, Bass almost went pro this year, and I think he will next year, so if he is gone, who knows, this very well could open the door for KY. Also my one source who thinks TH will not attend UK seems to think it is over for the Cats. No word from the other one yet.
