Mark Few has been favored to do something good in the tourney the last 3 seasons, and he's lost in the first round once and the second round twice. Thad Matta on the other hand, gets to the Elite 8 at Xavier with upsets. They are my top two choices as replacements, but Thad over Mark easily right now.

Tubby was NEVER on Detroit's radar. They got the coach that they wanted.

Tubby wants nothing to do with those RICH POMPOUS NBA Players. He is here for another 15 to 20 years. So accept it or keep having a sad life. I choose to accept it. Because NOTHING outside my children is worth the DRAMA. ED

Tubby was NEVER on Detroit's radar. They got the coach that they wanted. I don't think Tubby ever intended to be on Detroit radar. The only reason Tubby was linked to Detroit's position to begin with his because people were making baseless assumption. (Well, of course, he's also a great coach, and great coaches will be connected to high profile positions always). If Tubby made a statement about every NBA or college job he's connected to, he wouldn't have time to coach or recruit... he said that himself. Tom Izzo wasn't on the radar also. That's not a discredit to either Tubby or Izzo. They can't help people's baseless assumptions. Both are content where they are, and Tubby talks of a bright future. Flip Saunders was their top choice, and I'm glad they got him. They should be fine. I'm glad CM Newton got his ONLY choice back on May 7, 1997 also.
