didnt MBH do a poll simmilar to this I don't remember it, but I try to stay out of the "Hot Tub" so I might have missed it. If I'm in here too long I get all wrinkly and mean like some of the other members It's pretty pointless anyway...

I did actually start one similar back in December. The Coach Smith supporters were overwhelmingly under the age of 25. I'm not sure what you hypothesis is ukjarrod, but there is definately a generation gap involved between the supporters and nay-sayers.

I'm 44 this month and I support Tubby. That support is dwindling however.
This team has no heart, no chemistry, and no talent where it's needed most.

BC, pardon the question but what attributes of Tubby make you still support him. You know basketball and leadership, bro, and I am just wondering if you feel it sacrilegious to fault Tubby.

I see what he has been able to do in the past in bringing a team together, and I've seen him take what was supposed to be lesser talent to the brink of the final four on at least two occasions. Even if that weren't the case I'd still support him during the season because he's a class guy and should be treated with class IMO. If after the end of the season things haven't improved drastically I may change how I feel, but right now the team and the staff need all the support and encouragement they can get. Right now things don't look all that good, but I still remember times when Tubby was able to put together solid runs that went deep in to the tournament. Can he do it again? I don't know, but for now he's my coach and I'm supporting him. Sacrilegious? No, but I do find it more difficult to find fault simply because I like him and want him to succeed so badly. One of my faults I guess.

I've often wondered the same thing over the past three years. I'll say one thing for you BC, you certainly have stood your ground in supporting the man. I admire you for that. However, I think that shell of yours is cracking around the edges. This season has really changed a few people's perspectives; CH started changing his tune a few weeks ago, KT is less opinionated each day, and my goodness how Miss Kitty has reacted today. ......"oh the times, they are a changin'"

Ha-ha, my prediction is true...71% of those who support Tubby are 27 or younger!
I'm kidding of course, this is hardly a large enough sample to prove my point, and I'm 27 so according to my prediciton I should be a die-hard Tubby lover...
My hypothesis:
Sometimes I just think if you didn't have first-hand experience of the excellence that was UK basketball from 92-98 it's easier to accept the mediocrity of the past few years...Some younger fans are even jealous of those years and discount the accomplishments of those incredible teams...
Edit: Before anyone complains about my use of the word "mediocrity" I am not comparing our team to other NCAA teams. I'm comparing them to the standards of the average UK team...In regards to that they were mediocre and our team this year is below average...

I'm only 29 and I remember "The Good Ol' Days" of Joe B., Sam Bowie, Roger Harden, Richard Madison, Cedrick Jenkins, Dirk Minnifield, Kenny Walker, and Dinner Bell Mel. Those were the days...
