It's going to take more than a good regular season record to keep the Tubby-bashing at bay. If this team is able somehow to make a run at the final four it'll help, but the only thin that is going to truely keep the naysayers quiet is a national championship or at least a final four.
There will still be some that want him gone. Some just don't like Tubby-ball. Others just don't like Tubby. It happens to every coach.
Will people continue to call for Tubby to be fired? Maybe not, but there will be those that want someone else. Call it personal preference if you will.

Tubbys is doing a great job imo. I think he will be here for several more years and will continue to do a great job. He will never please all the fans, but he still wins and that's what it's all about.

I have been 1 of those outspoken people on this board about coach Smith. I have ask questions to all you about the next perspective could or would be when and if Tubby would be fired. Correct we have won 10 games in a row. We really havnt play any body for a good while now. As we go deeper in the Sec season and play some of the better teams fla,Tenn, and Ala. For the record we cant beat the Gators at home away or on the parking lot of your local Walmart. It has taken the team a long time to gel,and the are still a work in progress. If this team falls apart for several games during the Sec. It could. If we start to loose to people we should be beating then you will start to hear more negative things about Tubby. I hope this team can get a big road win in the Sec that would really help their seed in the NCAA.. Unless this team does a complete fold down the road. Tubby will be here for a few more seasons. IMO

The heart of the SEC is coming up. Why the long face? Most people have been complaining that "we haven't beaten anybody" (something that is still true, last time I checked). If we are going to beat them, we have to play them. Bring 'em on. Win or loose, this is still my favorite team in my favorite sport, and I know many feel the same. Go, Cats!

I agree. We've got one of two ways to go; get better or get worse. Now, who really wants the latter? Let's "lick our wounds" and get out there this weekend and stomp some Vols! What better medicine could we ask for?

What better medicine could we ask for? Nothing like squeezing an orange to itty bitty pieces to get rid of some frustrations, eh?

What better medicine could we ask for? That would be therapy indeed. Nothing soothes the Big Blue breast like crushing the Orange. We need it. Real bad.

^^^"Big Blue breast"? B2B? What are you thinking? Er, you know, the old saying "Music soothes the savage breast", right? Surely...? How about: "A win would soothe the savage breast of the Big Blue Nation." Is that more clear? There are those who think the phrase is "Music soothes the savage beast", but of course that is incorrect. The direct quote from William Congreave's play Mourning Bride is "Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast", which has been modified over the years to the form I mentioned above. Interestingly, that play is also the origin of the even more famous saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".
