* everything is set in motion for Tubby's 5th 10 loss season in 7 years, keeping the pressure on him as it should be. * UK will do just enough keep it's streak of at least 22 wins per season going. * UK will win another 1st round game and keep that streak alive. Great year all the way around.

and then we will get some stat about last five years how only one team has won more games than kentucky im sorry i no there is alot more parity in college ball than there used to be but come on this is kentucky 10 loss seasons used to be unheard of they are now the norm i could hack a 10 loss season once every 5 or 6 years but good grief the schedule wasnt even one of the tougher ones this season

I want UK to go through as little pain as possible and still manage to get a UK-caliber coach. Unfortunately, I understand that we have backed ourselves into a tight corner being that UK will catch hell from the media if Smith leaves because of all those historical connotations, most of which were fabricated or embellished. That leaves but one option: Smith must do bad enough for the nation to notice. Then and only then, will the majority of the media buy a Smith resignation as being worthy and unforced.

There has been so many names thrown out there that there can be no likely replacement. But, if i had to make a guess, it would be Travis Ford.

I really don't think UK should go after Travis Ford. He had a couple decent years at EKU and now a decent one at UMass...He needs at least 4-5 more years there and then maybe a job at smaller Big 10, ACC, or SEC school before UK needs to go after him IMO. Yes he's a UK alum, but he needs to prove that he can recruit outside of JUCO and have some quality wins under his belt. His win against UL was decent, but thats only one game.
I think we should go after someone at a second tier school that is doing well. Billy Gillispie - Texas A & M Tom Crean - Marquette Jamie Dixon - Pittsburgh Jay Wright - Villanova Bill Self - Kansas
I know some of these people won't be interested...but who knows...I'm sure there are other names out there that may be candidates.

Gotta add Billy Donovan in there but I doubt he'd leave Florida for UK...most likely off to the NBA to coach for more $$$.

I thought about Donovan, Gillisspie, and Self, but it is not likely that any of them would leave. Also, don't forget about Tony Bennett (Washington State), Mark Fox (Nevada), Todd Lickliter (Butler), Chris Lowery (Southern Illinois), Jeff Bzdelik (Air Force). As I said earlier, there are so many potential candidates that it is too hard to tell who could follow Tubby.

7, that is correct, but this is only Self's 4th season at KU, while Tubby has been here at UK for 10 years.

Please, not Calipari. I could do without another NCAA probation.

Chris Lowry at SIU is a carbon copy of Tubby. They play outstanding D but their offense is nill.....they've only hit 70 points 7 times this season where as the Cats have surpassed 70 points 14 times this year. I like Lowry, he's done a good job at SIU, but until they learn to score more, no thanks.
And I still can't figure out why so many of you guys have a boner to have Ford or Pelphrey coach at UK when they haven't won jack squat at their lower level schools. It's not like they've had a few back to back sweet 16 appearances.
Lorenzo Romar or Paul Hewitt......any takers?
