why don't we just hire Coach K? Bring Pitino back. He made sure that would never happen by going to UL. He is dead now. Treason is punishible by firing squad. But in sports, its just the bronx cheer.  |

All of this would simply be cured with another national title. We have at least made the elite 8 in 4 of Tubby's 8 years if i am not mistaken. That is pretty good. But, most of us including me feels we should have at least cracked the final 4 in more than just his first season. Tubby is a good basketball coach, but not a great one. Tubby took over a program at the top and has made 1 final four in eight years. You know who (I hate him so much I can't say his name, that freaking traitor) took over our team when it was in ruins and took us to 3 final fours in 8 years. Tubby is a great person but simply does not match up to the very best in the game.

As Ive said in past post Iam a Tubby smith fan. I think he will be able to coach at KY as long as he would like. He is in the top five college coachs in the country.
This will upset alot of people on this board,but the best college coach is up the road at louisville.
Iam not really a card fan I bleed blue. I know that coaching college is really tough with alot of the top player going pro after 1or2 years. Tubby will need to at least need to make a trip to the final 4
within the next couple of years. This next season will be a true test of Tubby's coaching skills.
Let see how he does. Remember folks if he chooses the NBA is only a phone call away.

Pitino at UK was the best...hes only been past the second round once in 4 tries at UofSmell. The one time he did, he did make a showhorse team last year. But He didnt want the money UK was paying and left for Boston, end of story.  |
