KTB My statement was about being TOP DOG. Winning, recruiting, coaching, tradition, facilities etc. are just a few areas to consider in being TOP DOG. Duke, NC, M St., and Kansas are just a few that could lay claim to being the premeir school of NCAA Basketball. All of these teams have been to the Final Four since we have. Bailey

Bailey Mr. Bailey, with all due respect sir, I certainly hope that now days being in the final four is not the leading and sole consideration to being looked upon as a premeir program. Because I consider UK as THE premeir program at this very moment. And for years to come as well as years past, as I know you do too my good man. Or, shall I say for, all the stauch UK following, all the UK people whom followed our great players, and I use that term, great players, in complete admiration, for every player whom has ever put on the UK jersey, and all the fans whom followed those players to Texas and to Rupp every game, THEY should contunue to hold there head up and follow UK AS THE PREMEIR PROGRAM NOW AND FOREVERMORE. That's how I feel, this day, March 29, 2005. Mr. Bailey, you know whom that is inrespect to.

Kentucky is at the present a Top Ten Program with Duke, Kansas, U Conn, Syracuse, Michigan State, North Carolina all ahead of us. - and don't compare this to just this year but instead the last 5 years. I really don't think anyone "FEARS" playing the Cats anymore.

If it's the last 5 years no way can you include UNC. Just 3 seasons ago they were 8-20. Then two seasons ago they missed the dance, and last year they were knocked out in the 2nd round as a 6 seed.

Golf, come on now, only a top ten program over the last five years. ???Granted, the tourney path has not been what we all have expected, but the seeding for UK and the overall season have been FAR MORE than a simple top ten program. IN MY OPINION ONLY. I certainly am not trying to tell you this is the right way to think. LOL! Holy smokes, I would mess up your golf game and you would take your seven iron after me, you misguided UK, alumni, I salute you sir. This is still UK basketball, a program that is looked up to as a model for most of the other program across the 50 states. Believe it or not says Rhipley. IT IS TRUE. UK STILL HAS A PLACE AS A TOP PROGRAM. Final fours or not. I will not argue that is it up to UK standards, I have only been following UK for a short number of years as you are well aware, but this is a top notch premier program, right now, today, and when you wake up in the morning. I just do not understand why more of the alumnia, great fans, and followers, I suppose I should just say posters on this site, do not tread it in a much more of a reverant tone with your posts. I may be from TEXAS, but I can certainly recognize a premier program when I am around one. You guys are the elite program in college basketball around the country, beleive it or not. I beleive it.

I feel that everyone that uses this site is an AVID BIG BLUE FAN. Here in lies the problem. We tend to look at things as hardened UK fans and not see things as they are to outsiders. In order to be NUMBER 1 you have to get the backing from the majority of fans. That means the ones that aren't as avid a UK fan as we are. I feel that there are many on this who say WHO CARES about them. Well if you want to be number 1 you need them. Bailey

We really don't need a Final Four if we want to continue being just another Top Ten Program with a good regular season record. However, many Kentucky Fans remember the days when we were THE PREMIER BASKETBALL PROGRAM and we are not headed in that direction playing Tubby Ball when we get into the NCAA Tourney!! We, in fact, are slipping further from our once proud perch!!

Golf, sorry, but from what I witnessed this season, and from where I watch the happening, at Midnight Madness, 8-9 games, senior night, meeting several of ex-players, the enthusiasum of the multitude of alumni and fans following the Cats, the feeling around the University, the and feeling of Uk being a, make that THE PREMIER PROGRAM, for UK basketball has not diminished one little bit. Come visit Lexington sometime, I will be honored to take you to a game, you know you will enjoy it, just being back on campus again, and you will get the feeling.
