The man has one of the highest salaries in the NCAA. That is even taking into account football. What are we getting for our money? 2005 Recruits Williams, Carter, and Sims 2006 Recruits Porter, and now we are offering Thompson. Do you think Tubby is earning his paycheck when he is signing players of this caliber? I sure as H___ don't! He is being out hustled by the likes of Ohio St. If he had done the same in the business world he would have been gone a long time ago. Bailey

I for one think the Deon Thompson offer is a smart offer. Doesn't mean we are going to land him, but I would not be dissapointed in the least.
Porter has good credentials.
Carter was also being recruited by UNC. If you will remember it came down to UK and UNC. Now I know you are down on Tubby, but it looks to me like he's right up there with the other big names.
For what it's worth Thompson is also being recruited by Arizona State, Gonzaga, and Roy Williams has also offered him a scholarship.
Tubby's recruiting is just fine IMO. We had a few lean years, but last season was banner. The 2005 class was thin at best and we only had a couple of scholarships to offer. Carter is going to be good in a couple of years. He's no project from all I've heard and seen. Rekalin Sims is going to make you guys forget Kelenna Azubuike real soon.
Nice job by Tubby IMO. Not a one and done headcase in the bunch!

Do you really think Tubby has earned his pay? He has been coach of UK since 1997. 3 ten loss seasons no final fours if you exclude Pitinos recruits Team Term oil Numerous players have departed the system (transfers or kicked off the team) The best finish since he has been here excluding Pitinos recruits is a final 8 Almost $2 mil per year. We are getting shafted. In less time than that Pitino has resurrected a dying UL team and taken them to the final 4. And along the way has beat the heck out of us. I have no sympathy for the $2 million dollar man. He should get out and earn his keep. The man does not understand that the top recruits like the run and gun style of offense and until he changes we will always be an also ran. Bailey

I think Bailey is xukfan with another psuedonym so he can really back up his statements about "all" of the other UK fans who think UK sucks. CH, once again a post from you that offers NOTHING to the discussion on the Board. Just another personal attack on posters that you don't agree with. Try raising your sights some with your own constructive ideas and allow others their ideas!!

Bailey Pitino's ressurrection has included two 10 loss seasons in just four years. One being the 2003/2004 season. He has beaten the heck out of us? Yep, they did beat us two years in a row. One of those being by 18 points. We beat them the year before by 20 points and we also beat their final four team! The University of Kentucky is not and will never be also rans.

BlueCat What you are neglecting to take into account about Pitinos 2 ten loss seasons is he took over a team that was bottoming out. The same can be said about UK when he took over here. When Tubby took over here he got a team that was pre season favorites to win it all. That is not a fair comparison. Bailey

I am tired of everybody remembering what is conveniant for them to remember in order to slam Tubby. They were ranked 13th in the pre-season, and they still won it all. Tubby's offense may not be run and gun, but that is mostly because his defense is not run and gun. In order to run up and down the floor like some teams do you have to press on defense and get the ball back quickly. We do not ever press or we do so very rarely. Almost half of the possesions that a team has against us they will get stuck in the half court and run 25 to 30 seconds off the shot clock. I know this is nothing like what Rick Pitino used to do here, but guess what Tubby is not Rick Pitino he is Tubby Smith and that is just fine with me. I will also guarentee that no one on this board who keeps REE_PEE this and REE_PEE thatin' about everything must have wtched a single U of L game last year except the UK game. They played the exact same kind of ball that we did. scores in the 50's and 60's with a slow and deliberate style of play.
