Let coaches coach. That's ridiculous. It is obvious that people that have careers as bankers, accountants, managers, etc. know far more about basketball than Tubby Smith who has spent his entire working career as a basketball coach. Just read this message board. It is easy to finish in the top ten every year.
Winning conference championships and conference tourney championships? Piece of cake.
Recruiting all-americans? Well I could do that.
Getting to within a last second battle or broken ankle of a Final Four? Anybody could do that.
There is nothing to being one of the 5 best coaches in America. If Tubby can do it, Hell anbody can do it. At UK we don't just need anybody, we need someone else. Hell we need anybody else. This excellence will just not suffice. Let's get rid of Tubby and bring in some other bum who could obviously do far better. I am getting real tired of talking bad about Tubby anyway. I want to talk bad about somebody else.

Let coaches coach"....There is nothing to being one of the 5 best coaches in America. ...." CH, Who in your mind are the best 5 coaches in America. Does this include both college and NBA? I can name many coaches that are more effective than Tubby in the college ranks but not all of them would fit at Kentucky. However, there are coaches that would be very dynamic in taking our Kentucky Program back to Final Fours on a consistent basis with more chances of National Championships.

We're on schedule to get maybe 20 points in the first half, maybe Tubby is a top 5 coach but where? Pluto!

I have yet to figure out why so many know-it-alls here don't have coaching careers. Seriously, I can't. They make it sound so easy. Surely they know what they're talking about because I can't imagine these armchair coaches just post to read their own words. Maybe they rant here because in REAL LIFE, when they start a rant people walk away from them. I don't know. I'd love to hear how they complain about legit issues in the world.

I was talking about how blowhards gripe just do to it.....and you kinda proved my point for me.

What point! This is a free country and we can grip if we want to. This is my gripe I missed the game because I had to work. I taped it but it does'nt seem like it is worth watching. Tubby can not motivate players. He said it himself they just don't listen. We've had this problem before players don't listen to him because they don't like his style of coaching. That is just my opion. I could be wrong but he just can get these players to run his lousy offense.

My point was, he couldn't even respond to a post that he quoted because he couldn't fight the urge to bash the coach. Critiquing and bitching just do it are two different things. Most people here do the latter.

Is it your feelings that only coaches need to be discussing the Kentucky Basketball team.

If Tubby uses the same "enthusiasm " and "excitement " that he uses in his interviews with the media, probably most of the players can hardly hear him much less understand him. Do the players know what he means when he continually says da, da, da............... Put a Thad Motta or Rick Pitino or Bruse Webber or Bruce Pearl or Roy Williams or Lorenzo Romar or Tom Crean interview on and then one from Tubby. - who would you get excited to play for?

I'm not saying only coaches should post, but I have yet to read anything but rantings from armchair coaches, therefore, the people talking have no clue what it's like to recruit, deal with the players and their egos and families, coach an actual game or deal with potentially unrealistic expectations from a rabid fanbase. It's like watching someone work and telling them they're doing it all wrong we've never done it ourselves. We all have theories as to what would help the cats win, but that's all they are. Theories.

We have our OPINION'S and you have yours. I just think Uk basketball is not as great as it should be. UK fans expect more. I make my schedule around UK games and it is just dissapointing the way they are playing right now.

Well then, it's my OPINION that you don't know all the details of a college coaches job.
