The question is simple enough. Will Tubby be around for the '03-'04 season, or will he leave or get fired?

Oh Kid. The Hot Tub has been turned on. It feels so warm and good right now, but will it get too hot...not hot enough? We will see.
My personal opinion on the matter is that if things go unchanged and the kind of season we've endured the last few seasons is about the same, Tubby will not be the coach. I don't think he'll be fired, but Barnhart will force him to quit probably under a lot of scrutiny. If we have Turmoil II this season you can take it to the farm, but if things are relatively turmoil free and we have another 10-loss season or an earlier than expected exit out of both tournaments the aforementioned scenario, I believe, will come true.

The answer to your question depends entirely on how this season pans out. As TG said, another year of Team Turmoil and you can bet your bottom dollar Tubby will be strongly encouraged (read forced to leave by Barnhart IMO. A trouble-free, but not outstanding season (i.e. 8-10 losses) would muddy the waters somewhat. Barnhart would probably not be inclined to take such a strong stand and push Tubby away, but again, thats just MHO.
Now an outstanding season (at least elite 8, no more than 6 losses) and I say Tubby gets another couple of years at least.
Yep...The Hot Tub has been turned on!

I believe that TLT should be fired now. I believe UK needs a fresh start and that means a new coach. Coach PELPHREY to the rescue. He has ruined the best BB program of all time.

Pelphrey what the heck has he done? He's not even been a head coach for one game.

He could do no worse than TLT has done the last 3 years.

Don't you think he should at least coach a game at another school, before you put him at the helm of the best team in college basketball history. He certainly could do worse, and it is also possible he could do better, but I doubt that with no experience. What's TLT stand for?

I just think that Pelprey could do alot better with the talent than Tubby does. TLT means Ten Lose Tubby. After UK lost to Dayton, I've wanted TLT gone. With the talent that UK has had how in the world do you lose as many games as he does? He seems to be perfectly happy with the outcome. I don't want anymore excuses, I want results as any UK fans does thats all. I think TLT puts himself and family before UK. JMO Maybe Mr. Barnhart has put TLT in his place and UK FIRST not his FAMILY, as far as Basketball goes. I personnaly hope that TLT takes his show somewhere else after this season. GO BIG BLUE not TLT.

Say what you will about Tubby putting his family before UK. However, it would be utterly wrong for him to put the game of basketball ahead of his family. When he does that he will be a sad sad man. I would imagine Mr. Pelphry puts his family above his job, and the same thing for Rick Pitino and Joe B. Hall, and Adolph Rupp. There is one thing I hope Tubby puts before anything and that is God. But hey, asking a man to put a game before people is absurd imo.

Well indications now seem to point for a return of Smith. He really had the crowd going and you'd think with all the stuff on the internet that a majority of the people don't like Tubby, but I don't think if you didn't like him, you'd scream his name when he came onto the court He did a great job at MM and the team looks to be really good. I think we all called for another troubling season in order for him to go, but as it looks now this might be his most underrated team yet and perhaps his best. I've learned never to judge at the beginning so I am still really skeptical, but all signs lead to a brighter season...which for him is another year.
