Tubby's hockey style usually does prevail. Can't argue with a national title and a 79% winning clip (better than UK overall). I rest my case.

Can't argue with them 10 loss seasons and almost getting beat several times by low class sec teams this past season, win by heroics. WOW what a record. win on Pitino's coattails, lose for several years by double digits, compete in a weak as- league, never reach a final four after your first year. Have the best recruiting in the nation year after year (according to his fans) and still come up short, his fans believe he is the best coach in the history of man kind at any kind of sport=priceless

2. Kentucky. Wildcats fans who wonder why their team hasn't reached the Final Four since 1998 need only examine recent NBA draft lists. UK hasn't produced a top 15 pick since 1997 and has had only one first-round pick (Tayshaun Prince) in the past five years. The Wildcats were shut out entirely in this year's draft, and they need players at every position. Nashville-area power forward Brandan Wright is the key. www.sportingnews.com/experts/mike-decourcy/20050705.htmlNow that I 100% agree with.. For those that think I HATE Tubby, well that's not completely true.. I hate the fact that he has yet to "consistantly" recruit big time players. With Prince being our only top 15 player under Tubby that is absolutely pathetic, this is UK!! We have not reached the final four since 98 and we won't if Tubby can't recruit at a higher level with the big boys.. Talent wins championships and there is NOTHING Tubby can do to prove this theory wrong. Look at last years Champion (North Carolina), 4 players drafted in the 1st round of the NBA draft. Actually they were all chosen before the 14th pick.. Disagree all you want, but we need studs. Yes a FEW four year players are fine, but too many equals no final four appearances. Take last year for example we almost made the final four, some would say we overachieved? I personally thought this was Tubby's best team at UK since 1999, but this is my opinion. This coming season will be a better team even with the loss of Morris and Buike. We had a solid recruiting class with Rondo and co., so therefore we'll have a bit more success then usual. In conclusion: We need top notch players or else we need to settle for SEC success. If Tubby can't do this at UK then he MUST go bye bye, it's been almost 8 years with no fianl four appearance. I'm sorry, but that's PATHETIC!!! A coach shouldn't have problems recruiting at UK?

Who gives a crap about a winning percentage 79%, this is the WEAK SEC were talking about. And Tubby hasn't prevailed at all, no final four appearance in 8 years is hardly prevailing?

GOOD POINT KT, 79 PERCENT WOW Yip, wow.. What an accomplishment, 79% in the SEC now that's something to REALLY be proud of.. Now, 0% over the past 8 years is Tubby percentage in the fianl four, 0%.. To me that's what matters most, I could honestly CARE LESS about Tubby's winning percentage which gets a boost every year by playing in the weak and (getting weaker) SEC. This STINKS!!! Will Tubby ever be able to consistantly recruit big time players, I want a championship.. Not SEC titles..

I totally agree with that assessment... talent wins championships folks... YES IT DOES and it's proven over and over and over and over and over again...

We need talent at 2 possitions. Our gaurds are stacked and we have twelve 7 footers. I think most people would call that depth at the 5. Our 3 and 4 are slightly week this year, but Crawford can take up some slack at the 3, and there is a chance that we could get Rush. Our 4's are the biggest mystery, and while I don't think any of them will be first rounders (Keep in mind I don't really know enough about Simms to talk about him), I think Thomas, Perry, and Simms could all be good college players. Good enough to take us to a championship. We may have had some trouble getting guys drafted in the past few years, but that will change in the immediate future whenever Rondo is drafted. I think that guy is full of it. that guy is definetly not "full of it", some of us "stubborn" UK fans don't want to face reality. This guy hit the nail on the head..

I THINK OUR 07 WILL BE MUCH LIKE OUR 04 CLASS WHEN IT COMES TO TALENT I EXPECT US TO BRING 2-3 HIGH SCHOOL ALL AMERICANS Why would we need any all-americans when we have Porter?

I can argue with a national title, that was Pitino's recruits and as years pass and Tubby continues NOT to reach a final four it becomes more and more apparent that the 98 team was Pitino's boys that won Tubby that championship. However, 20 years could pass and this could still be Tubby's only championship and someone would still admit that it was Tubby's coaching abilities that got the 98 team there and it had nothing to do with Pitino. Whatever....

First of all, way to post 9 posts instead of one. That was really necessary. Second, stop taking stats from just the last 8 years. Take stats from every year he has coached. meaning he is 1-9 here at Kentucky in getting to national championships. NOT 0-8. That 0-8 stat is an obscure bending of the truth.
We will have our best chance at a final four this comming year in a long time. We will have more talented players at both the 3 and 4 positions in Simms/Thomas (over over-rated. . .I mean Hayes) and Crawford (over Azubuike). We've got the stud recruits, and we are in possition to win a championship in the next couple of years. What more do you all want (with the exception of Tubby's job)?
By the way, hockey substitution stopped come tournement time, but some key guys from the bench didn't 'stop' producing. The 'hockey' substitutions were meant to get everyone experience, and with the team we had last year, I think the general thought was that the second team wasn't much of a let-down from the first. I definately saw the same scoring droughts with both groups.

Umm, Final Four appearances? Look, Snick, Golf, myself, and some others do not call for Tubby's job. But, we do see the need for changes when it comes to recruiting and style of play(which would help recruiting). Let me ask you something, are you completely happy with the last 7 seasons with NO Final Fours? If not, then you must admit that something needs to change. Right? Please, don't give me the "with a break here and a call there we woulda coulda" because since UKs last appearance, Duke has been to 3 FFs, Mich St. to 4 FFs, Kansas to 2 FFs, UNC to 2 FFs, etc..

Hey we're leading the world in winning % the last 3 years with largely mediocre recruits. What more could a person want or what else could Tubby do? TFIC

No I'm not completely satisfied, but I'm also not convinced that Tubby's style of play doesn't work. I guess we can aggree to disagree, but I think the only positive in throwing up bad shots, and being fine with a lot of 1 on 1 BS is that we will look more appealing to recruits. I really feel as though with equal talent, Tubby can coach with anyone out there.
KJ, when a school gets the number one recruiting class in the nation, and its fans are calling them mediocre, you know something is wrong. I know there were some recruiting busts such as Carrier and Stockton, but as a whole our guys are turning out pretty well. Stay away from your parade all-american, mcdonalds all-american mumbo jumbo because I don't care. The bottom line is that we are being put into a great possition to do damage in the tournement, and we have as talented a team as anyone out there next year with the exception of maybe a couple of schools with a lot of upper classmen. Our time will come, and we will not have to change our style of play.
