This is laughable. Simply put... laughable!!! catcrawler, save your time debating this with xukfan. It's a lost cause, because he says the same thing with every post. For a guy that doesn't like Tubby Smith... Tubby's name appears in his post every single time. Tubby's name is mentioned a lot. Might be because he is the current coach. The coach who has never won a champ a team he produced. Same things are said because same results from him every year. You like him, that's fine. That doesn't make him the coach you profess. If you are happy with current status of uk program, that's fine. However, most uk fans would want more for the team they follow. The blind allegence of some to Tubby is keeping uk on the flat plateau they are now on. Tubby is not a terrible coach, just not the coach to get and keep uk on top of basketball world. He has proven that. You may never see this due to your affection for the coach, however, many fans are taking a hard look at him and if he can't get the job done in a few more years, he will be forced out. Gonna be rough on you.

Golfncat, I agree Tubby does some questionables, but he is undeniably the best teacher of defense in the half court in the country. The reality is that with any team we spend the amount of time we do watching, you can find some questionable decisions made by the coach. With Tubby, I think the 'mistakes' are few and far between. I just don't understand the negativity on the eve of number 8.
xukfan, it is hard to deny our heads up win at there place, and the fact that they have no chance in hell this comming year. I'm sure they are better though. . . GO CARDS!

I GUESS HE DID NOT HAVE THE NERVE TO ANSWER don't know and don't care. but, again you guys are referencing past achievements. UofL was in final four this year and uk hasn't been in 7andcounting. There are many cats and card fans who root for both teams, count me as one. However, i would much rather have uk be top dog in state. They are not now and if you take most recent past into account, they will not be in near future either. IF you were not so enamored with Tubby, you would agree with the logic that says if a coach takes another man's players who were use to a completely different style and wins some sort of championship, but takes his own recruited players and can't duplicate that success after many years, it only stands to reason that the success he had with the other players was either due to the other players experience or just blind luck. either way, the 98 champ will never truely be his in most peoples eyes. As was stated in another board, i am sure you Tubby fans will eventually want to raise a banner in rupp with just Tubby's name on it because it is such an honor to have him here. And since he can't win the big one without strings attached, you would be just as happy. Tubby is holding the program back and riding the wave. don't blame him, but it shows that just like a lot of self center people, his only concern is for the paycheck and adulation for fans such as you. If you or i were given a job as manager of a great company and we let revenues slip and the performance of the company was flat and it became hard to recruit and keep good people, we wouldn't last long unless the stock holders just looked the other way. You guys just keep looking the other way and one day you will wake up and see what part you played in the sinking.

In response to the topic article, I believe the guy is unaware of the current roster and the 3 MacD (counting Morris) that are on the roster. He is right on one count, as we are all well aware, UK has not had players taken early in the draft but as was pointed out, that is about to change.
Everything I have read about Sims leads me to believe he is going to be real good ball player.
And, Williams should be real good too.

we should at least go to the final four this year at the least. Maybe even a title or two in the next couple of years. Don't you Tubby fans agree? What will you do if he doesn't achieve this?

Answer this, how many more teams has UL's coach coached to a national title, as compared to UK's coach? The score on national champs is 1 to 1. The score on FF's is 5 to 1. Rather overwhelming considering one was at UK 6 years and the other 8. Plus one made a FF with that traditional power Providence and another down at little bro's house in 4 years after they were in the crapper. Big difference in starting from the outhouse intead of the penthouse.

I'd like to point out the importance of Tubby to Pitino and Pitino to Tubby. Tubby helped set things in motion for Pitino here at UK, and Tubby just happened to take over a very much depleted, yet good, team at UK. One hand washes the other.

As I showed you before who did Tubby bring in for Pitino? Carlos Toomer? Jody Thompson? Chris Harrison? Gimel Martinez? That about runs the gamut for the 2 years Tubby was with Pitino other than Mash and he damned sure wan't a result of Tubby. You amaze me with the outrageousness of some of your comments.
