First of all, great post, Tummygoat! I'm having a hard time deciding how you feel, though. Could you clarify?
I understand that you don't like comparing us under Tubby to other schools. You shouldn't. It makes Tubby look very good. So I tried comparing us under Tubby to UK's tradition that you keep speaking of. You ignored that, because it proved you wrong, too.
You don't like it when I compare UK to good programs. You don't like it when I compare them to bad programs. You don't like it when I compare them to their own history. All you like is when UK is compared to your fantasy-world idea of UK that has no precedent. If UK were to continuously do what they have done in the past 5 1/2 years, they would be unquestionably the best college program in the nation. I guess that's comparing to the rest of the nation, so I'm sure you don't like it. When all you will compare to is perfection, it's easy to find fault.
Didn't this whole thread begin because someone who is actually in the know said Tubby has done MUCH more than Pitino to give his players an understanding of UK's tradition? Wasn't Tubby's quote that he didn't understand the "magnitude" of the UK position? It is quite possible to not understand the magnitude and still respect the tradition. All evidence indicates that Tubby has much more respect for UK tradition than Pitino ever did.
Who is it that has so much respect for UK tradition that should be coaching this team? Are you volunteering? Sounds like you REALLY respect the tradition (though you seem to forget the previous bad years since "only" getting to the Final Four once every five years is so horrendous to you.)
You may hold your opinions, but don't spout them off to everyone if you are going to support them with faulty logic and irrational anecdotes.

You CONTINUE to compare US to OTHER schools and for the life of me I can't understand WHY. I am a KENTUCKY WILDCAT FAN and could NOT care less what OTHER SCHOOLS, OR their FANs doI understand that you don't like comparing us under Tubby to other schools. You shouldn't. as he STATED that TRADITION at UK was something he was NOT Aware of and I questioned that comment.
